Locked from all "evil" vamps; ie Angel's the one exception.

Alright. How many of you have let Armand or another one of these fanged idiots feed from you?

Death isn't the only danger, you tossers.

Spicy Cheez-its are better than expected.

That's alright, I should be able to do it easily enough. It's just easier if I can simply slit it's throat and... anyway, irrelevant.

I never thought my butchery skills would be the most in demand.

[identity profile] rudolphofvamps.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Its throat is.. intact. My inmate is a weird guy, okay.

Well, hey, at least you're useful.

[identity profile] evilbystatute.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Shouldn't have too much trouble, as long as it didn't lose too much blood whilst doing... whatever weird things your inmate does.

Which is surprising for a man specialising in death in a place where nobody dies.

[identity profile] rudolphofvamps.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
...Didn't think of it that way. That is sort of odd.

[identity profile] evilbystatute.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I have, however, been looking into why nobody dies. So I do suppose I have a use here, odd or not.

[identity profile] rudolphofvamps.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Let me know if you figure that out, yeah? Bit freaky.

[identity profile] evilbystatute.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
My current theory is that there is a block on Death coming here - we had a situation once on the Disc where Death had literally, um, gone on holiday, and didn't turn up to collect the soul of a wizard, and so, he carried on living. In this sense, Death is barred from entering the Barge, so nobody dies, just suffers mortal injuries. There's no fully corpereal and conscious resurrection; something which would require a very, very powerful wizard, if not sourcerer to do, it's more likely that there is magic preventing Death from entering. I 'died', and didn't meet Death at all - I also, as a wizard, should be able to see my death coming, and didn't see it coming.

Of course, the only way to truly work that one out is to try summoning Him.

[identity profile] rudolphofvamps.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Which.. would be bad, yeah?

[identity profile] evilbystatute.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Not... really. It would be risky, as different universes have different Deaths - same principle, same thing, different existances. If I summoned the Disc's Death, he doesn't exactly rampage around reaping souls; we summon him quite often at the university to answer some universal kind of questions for us.

But it would mean that people would die here until He left. We might also get a different Death, from a different universe, and that might go terribly wrong. It's risky without understanding the nature of the universe you are in. If, indeed, we are in a universe.

[identity profile] rudolphofvamps.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe there's a different death entirely, already here. He might not be too happy if we woke him up.

[identity profile] evilbystatute.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
That's quite plausible too. This is why I do not wish to experiment with magic outside magical environments I know and understand. It would be foolish and reckless.

[identity profile] rudolphofvamps.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
See, this is why I usually hate magicfolk.

And why I don't hate you.

[identity profile] evilbystatute.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Wizards in my world are bound to a University statute, normally, and by law. We realise that the sort of power we have comes with a responsibility to refrain from its use unless absolutely necessary, aside from experimentation within a confined magical environment, such as the University itself.

I am under the impression wizards in other worlds are less powerful, technically, than we are, but have more innate power, which perhaps changes the relationship.

[identity profile] rudolphofvamps.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
That would make sense, yeah. But even still, doesn't give them an excuse.

[identity profile] evilbystatute.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
No, it doesn't. It really doesn't. I'm still trying to work out how there is magic on the Roundworld at all, but it's interesting to investigate.

[identity profile] rudolphofvamps.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Roundworld, huh? Suppose it's interesting. now we're stuck here without much to do.

[identity profile] evilbystatute.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe its what you might know as Earth. I didn't realise you had vampires either, but I'm learning a lot already from being here.

An academic's philosophy in life, indeed.

[identity profile] rudolphofvamps.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Guess there are worse ways to live.

[identity profile] evilbystatute.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Most definitely.
